Medical Equipment Pickup and Delivery

REquipment provides free, gently used durable home medical equipment (DME) and assistive technology (AT) throughout Massachusetts. Approved donations can be dropped off or picked up. Requested equipment can be picked up, delivered, or, for some smaller devices, mailed.

The equipment itself is free. Pickup, delivery, or mailing fees may apply in some situations and will be explained before arrangements are confirmed.

Donating Equipment

Once your donation is approved, REquipment will contact you to arrange drop-off or pickup.

Drop Off Your Donation

Drop-off is by appointment. REquipment works with regional partners in New Bedford, East Bridgewater, Salem, Worcester, West Springfield, Amherst, and Pittsfield.

REquipment will connect you with the appropriate regional partner and arrange a time for you to bring in the approved equipment.

Request Pickup for a Donation

If you cannot bring the equipment to a drop-off location, REquipment can arrange pickup of donated durable medical equipment for a $20 fee.

Pickup may take two weeks or longer to schedule.

If you cannot pay the pickup fee, indicate this on the donation form. The fee may be waived for financial hardship when the donated equipment is a high-priority need for REquipment’s inventory.

REquipment cannot pick up smaller assistive technology items unless they are donated with a larger piece of equipment.

Receiving Equipment

After you request a device and your request is approved, REquipment will contact you about pickup or delivery.

Pick Up Your Equipment

If you need the equipment quickly, picking it up is usually the fastest option.

Pickup locations vary depending on where the equipment is stored. REquipment will schedule a date with you so the equipment is accessible when you arrive.

Delivery

If you cannot pick up the equipment, REquipment can arrange delivery.

A $20 delivery fee applies. The fee may be waived for financial hardship.

Because of high demand and a limited number of drivers, delivery may take two weeks or longer to schedule.

Make Sure the Delivery Location Is Accessible

REquipment drivers cannot carry power wheelchairs, scooters, lifts, or similar equipment up or down stairs.

If there are stairs or other access concerns at the delivery location, tell REquipment when the delivery is being arranged.

Mailing Smaller Devices

Some smaller devices can be mailed for a flat $20 fee.

Smaller devices may also be delivered with a larger device or picked up from a partner reuse location at no cost.

REquipment will explain the available options when your equipment request is approved.

When You Receive Your Equipment

When you receive the equipment, you will inspect it and sign a receipt.

REquipment will also ask you to complete a short consumer satisfaction survey.
